As County Executive I will embrace a common-sense, innovative, and inclusive approach to governing and problem-solving. I will build a diverse team of dedicated professionals to address the most pressing issues we face in Rockland and to move the county forward. I am approachable by nature and open to all points of view along the ideological spectrum when it comes to new ideas for enhancing our collective quality of life and increasing the productivity of our people and our businesses.
I abhor corruption or misappropriation of any kind and will always strive to act in the best interest of the public good. I believe in fair treatment for all and preferential treatment for none. My vision for Rockland is a place where people from every community can thrive and prosper together in a spirit of mutual respect and collaboration, free from hatred and secure in the belief that we are safe in our homes and our neighborhoods.
Michael Parietti has spent his life serving his country and his community, driven by a deep belief in accountability, fairness, and local democracy.
Born and raised in Suffern, New York, Michael graduated from Suffern High School (Class of 1980) and the United States Military Academy at West Point (Class of 1984). While at West Point, he also captained the NCAA wrestling team, demonstrating discipline and leadership.
He served in the 10th Mountain Infantry Division as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Acting Company Commander. He is Airborne, Ranger, and Pathfinder qualified, and retired as a Captain.
Michael earned a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Penn State University and built a successful career as a Managed Care Specialist and Sales Representative in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
For the past seven years, he has served on the Rockland County Planning Board, and during that same time has also been the primary caregiver for his elderly mother.
Michael is a founding organizer of Preserve Ramapo and Preserve Rockland, two grassroots groups dedicated to fighting political corruption and restoring democratic values. In 2014, Michael represented himself (pro se) in a landmark legal case that forced the Town of Ramapo to hold a referendum on adopting a ward-based election system—a major victory for fair representation.
A consistent voice for reform, Michael has run for public office several times, including for Ramapo Town Council (2007), Rockland County Legislature (2011, 2019), Ramapo Town Supervisor (2013, 2015), and U.S. Congress (2020, SAM Party).
Michael is also a former Eagle Scout and a longtime volunteer with the Big Brother/PALS program, highlighting his lifelong commitment to service and mentorship.
From West Point to Rockland County, Michael Parietti has demonstrated a steadfast, principled commitment to public service. He's not running to build a political career—he's running to rebuild trust in local government and restore representation for Rockland residents.
Bring people together, keep our neighborhoods safe, and ensure every community in Rockland feels respected, included, and heard
Make Rockland a place where our residents can find good-paying jobs close to home. Support small businesses, welcome clean new industries, and build an economy that works for all of us.
Help more families live and stay in Rockland by building affordable, energy-efficient housing—without changing the character of our towns and neighborhoods.
Open the books. Spend tax dollars wisely. Make sure every part of county government serves our communities with honesty, transparency, and respect.
Work hand in hand with law enforcement, first responders, and neighbors to keep our communities safe, reduce crime, and build public trust—without fear or division.
Invest in modern roads, reliable buses, and the one-seat train to New York City we've waited on for decades. It's time to shorten commutes and reduce traffic for everyone.
Fight for fair wages, strong public schools, better care for our seniors, and more opportunities for young people to build a future right here in Rockland
Protect our water supply. Preserve our parks and green spaces. Stop pollution before it starts. Lead the way on clean energy—so we keep Rockland healthy, beautiful, and livable for generations to come.
